Nkata Podcast  Station

NKATA is an Igbo word from the language spoken by the Igbo people of Nigeria. It simply means "Conversation".&nbsp; In 2009, Emeka Okereke had the idea of embarking on a long-duration body of work articulate, through a podcast format, the personal stories and creative processes of individuals from the Majority World (a term coined by Shahidul Alam, as a more appropriate alternative to “Global South”). The individuals he engages in a dialogue are those he considers “their work and artistic process to be compelling and relevant to our time”. So far, this initial intention has yielded seven episodes of thought-provoking, long-form conversations with some of the most relevant artists of today. 
In 2020, a second show, called Dots Of Thoughts, was added to the platform. This addition has transformed the platform into Nkata Podcast Station, with hopes of incubating many other shows going forward. Becoming a Patron The plan has always been to cultivate a community of supporters and patrons with whom to grow this project. Thus, we have set up a platform through which you can subscribe to become a patron of the project.
